That is about as far as I'm willing to think about, and I know people are wondering. I'm looking forward to spending most of my summer (with Jackson, of course) in Placerville with Dean and Jennifer. I'll keep our apartment and will likely be in San Francisco once a week or so. I'm also looking forward to getting to Houston to see my mom. It's looking like I'll get there in early July. I'm still hoping to go to New York in September and, well, since it is so close to Europe, I hope to make it there as well. London and Paris to visit friends. Then I'll face the inevitable job hunt. I'm not worrying right now about where exactly I'll search, whether I'll focus on San Francisco only or look in other cities. It may not be a decision for me to make, depending on the job market at that time. But that is a worry for another day.
Jackson is doing better every day. He was very withdrawn, lethargic on his walks and hid a lot when he first came back from boarding. With the help of the dog walker and our neighbor, he's coming out of his shell. They're helping me give him lots of long walks and trips to the beach and he is nearly his old self. Even a bit improved on the old self. He doesn't seem to be whining and barking when he's left alone, something I know the whole building appreciates.
For now, I'm busy with plans for the memorial service and trying to get the apartment back in order. Clearly, Joshua was the neat one and I am already having difficulty living up to his reputation.
