I'm at a loss as to what to write at this time, except to thank all of our dear friends who have been sending the most heartfelt emails. At some point in the future, when there is a quiet moment for me to gather my thoughts, I would very much like to reply to them. I know everyone understands that moment isn't now. Joshua leaves a strong legacy of letter writing with such an amazing worldwide network of friends that I look forward to carrying on his tradition. Big shoes to fill, indeed.
It is a flurry of activity here, as you can imagine. Still trying to reach some people (damn time zones!). Carol is keeping us laughing and engaged. Mabel and I are holding up as best as can be expected. The apartment is beginning to fill up with flowers. There is a mystery bouquet of roses that arrived with the most beautiful sentiments. Sent from the Denver area, I think, so if you're reading this, dear friend, please call/text/email to confirm.
